About Merridy

Merridy is a passionate and friendly podiatrist with experience across all areas of podiatry. She has a particular interest in running-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions, with extensive knowledge of biomechanics as well as general skin and nail care.

Merridy holds a Bachelor of Podiatry with First Class Honours from the University of South Australia and a Master’s in Clinical Biomechanics from the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom. She is currently in the final stages of completing a PhD at La Trobe University, where her research focuses on lower limb biomechanics in people with midfoot osteoarthritis.

Over the past decade, Merridy has worked in private practice across Adelaide, Sydney, the UK and the USA. Her clinical experience includes orthotic and exercise prescription, strengthening programmes, and adjunct therapies such as Radial Shockwave Therapy for overuse injuries. She also spent a season in Canada designing custom orthotics for ski and snowboard boots.

Merridy has just returned from New York, where she spent two years completing her PhD remotely. While based there, she also worked with the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute (Noigroup), supporting multidisciplinary pain education grounded in a modern, biopsychosocial approach. In addition, she worked at the US Orthotic Center alongside a world-leading pedorthist, gaining advanced experience in designing and fabricating custom orthotic devices for complex biomechanical cases.

In addition to clinical practice, Merridy has worked as a clinical educator at Central Queensland University (Sydney campus), where she lectured in Rheumatology, Advanced Anatomy, and Podiatric Biomechanics. She also served as the lead clinical supervisor for second-, third- and fourth-year podiatry students in the university’s student clinic.

Merridy is committed to lifelong learning and has completed further training in running retraining, dry needling, foot and ankle strengthening, shockwave therapy, and laser therapy for fungal toenails.
