You do not need a referral to see a Podiatrist at Performance Podiatry.
This will depend on your individual level of cover. Podiatry is usually part of an extras package. We recommend calling your private health insurance provider or checking your plan before your appointment in case you want to know your level of cover and rebate.
Usually podiatry is not covered by Medicare. However, we do accept Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly Enhanced Primary Care Plan) referrals from GPs which covers part of your appointment fee for up to 5 visits per year.
These plans are formulated by General Practitioners for individuals living with a chronic disease eg. Diabetes. You can discuss this with your General Practitioner, so that they can assess your eligibility prior to your appointment.
Yes we do! If you are covered for podiatry through your private health insurance, we will process an on the spot health fund rebate with our HICAPS machine at your appointment.
As Performance Podiatry runs by appointment, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellation of appointments.
If no cancellation notice is received by phone call or email and the appointment is not attended, 75% of the consultation fee will be charged.
If an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment time, 50% of the appointment fee will be charged.
Please bring any relevant referrals or letters specific to your issue.
For biomechanical / sports injury appointments please bring any commonly worn footwear, relevant scans or xrays and any orthotics that you use. Please bring a pair of shorts or leggings so that we can assess your feet and legs.
For any skin or nail based appointments please remove any nail polish or shellac prior to the appointment.
Yes, we accept DVA referrals from your GP. More information »
